An Evening with Andrew Cothern author of RVA Playlist: Stories from the Richmond, Virginia Music Scene
Join us here at the shop for a reading, Q&A, and conversation with Andrew Cothern hosted by PJ Sykes. They will be talking about and readying from Andrew's new book RVA Playlist: Stories from the Richmond, Virginia Music Scene
Andrew Cothern loves his local music scene. Maybe a little too much. He's been a music journalist, show goer, and champion supporter of the Richmond, Virginia music scene for nearly two decades and with that comes a lot of stories. Join Andrew - better known as "RVA Playlist" - as he reminisces about his time covering Richmond's overlooked and often underappreciated local music scene from 2006 to 2016. From calling six bands by the wrong name in an interview, to getting punched in the face at a punk show, to being obnoxiously drunk at a growing pop icon's live performance, to trying to figure out why live music shows never start on time, these are the tales as he grows up being nurtured by his local music community.
